The company will not use the following as controlled timber:

• timber for which forest management activities may cause irreversible negative impact on any high conservation value forest elements*;
• timber of illegal origin;
• genetically modified timber;
• timber obtained by converting forest land into plantations or nonforest land;
• timber harvested in violation of local communities’ rights;
• timber whose origin cannot be traced or verified throughout all stages of the supply chain.

SIA “ACA Timber” stipulates that its supply chain policy is publicly available.

* Before starting logging operations, the supplier is obligated to verify the presence of high conservation value nature features in each forest stand, which can be done using the felling permit. For identifying nature values and EUsignificant habitats, we recommend consulting the information available in the nature data management system at https://ozols.gov.lv (if the supplier has authorized access), as well as using the High Conservation Value Identification Form prepared by SIA “ACA Timber”.
