We are one of the leading companies in timber harvesting, roundwood trading, and woodchip trade, operating in Latvia since 1990.

Our core business areas are timber harvesting, soil preparation, wood procurement, and wood trading.

In Latvia, we operate in four regions — North Kurzeme, South Kurzeme, Zemgale, and Vidzeme — where we have seven procurement and harvesting units. We also procure timber in five ports: Liepāja, Ventspils, Mērsrags, Riga, and Skulte.

In addition to our operations in Latvia, the company has extensive experience working in the Baltic and European markets. For more than 20 years, we have worked on projects of various scales, providing precise and highquality logistics services. We ensure accurate material deliveries to our partners and clients. We operate in the following ports: Klaipėda (LT), Roomasaare (EE), Paldiski (EE), Pärnu (EE), Halden (NOR), Drammen (NOR), Heltermaa (EE), Kunda (EE), Lehtma (EE), Virtsu (EE), Ventspils (LV), Riga (LV), Skulte (LV), Liepāja (LV), Mērsrags (LV) and Salacgrīva (LV).

To ensure the company’s core operations and the sustainable use of forest resources, ACA Timber has obtained FSC, PEFC, and SBP certifications. This confirms the company’s strict adherence to ensuring that its activities do not have a negative impact on the environment.

Our History

Since 8 January 2026, two strong and traditionrich companies — ACA Timber and ACA Forest — have merged under the name ACA Timber.

ACA Forest

The company’s activities began on 30 November 1990, when the Latvian–Finnish joint venture SIA SILVA was established.
In September 2001, the company became the representative of the Metsäliitto Group in Latvia.

At the end of 2005, the Finnish–Latvian joint venture SIA SILVA changed its name to SIA Metsaliitto Latvia.

In February 2012, the Metsäliitto Group reorganized its corporate identity in order to continue operating as the unified Metsä Group. As a result of the corporate identity reorganization, the company’s name was changed to SIA Metsa Forest Latvia.

In February 2025, Metsä Group decided to sell SIA Metsa Forest Latvia to the Latvian company SIA ACA Timber.
In June 2025, the company was renamed SIA “ACA Forest”.

ACA Timber

Company manager Armands Apfelbaums has continued his professional career in timber trading since 1993.

The company works on projects of various scales, providing precise and highquality logistics services. We operate successfully in the Baltic and other European markets.

On 28 February 2025, SIA ACA Timber signed a binding agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of the Latvian forestry and logistics company SIA Metsa Forest Latvia from the Metsä Group’s parent company Metsäliitto Cooperative.
